Seager hails team morale

Whitstable Town, unbeaten in eight league games, return to Kent League action on Saturday when Mark Tompkins brings his Erith Town side to the Belmont.

The Oystermen have three games in hand over Thamesmead Town and VCD Athletic and boss Marc Seager wants to pick up three points against the Dockers.

“We are getting back to full strength,” Seager told www.whitstabletownfc.co.uk.

“We now have Mickey Lane and Josh Maine nearly back to full fitness and Sam Prett, who we thought at one time would be out for at least a couple of months has made great strides in recovering from his injury.

“Sam has tried a completely new training and fitness regime, which seems to have worked wonders.

“We have a few tough games coming up which means we need to be at full strength, all my strikers are fit and I would say that any one of the four would walk straight into any Kent League side.”

Seager has revealed that team morale is high as they get back into league action.

He said: “Last night we had a fantastic training session with all the lads really working hard as they know all over the park we have competition for places at the club, which I feel is a very healthy position to be in.

“Yes it means that I have to be aware that every player, at whatever level, wants to play every week.

“But that’s part of my job, which I find a challenge to pick the right players who I believe will do the job on any given day for Whitstable Town.

“The spirit at the club is fantastic, we have some great players at the club and with the youngsters pushing through from the reserves and under 18’s it means that the future of the club is built on solid foundations.”
