Seager explains Knight departure
Aaron Knight has decided to leave Whitstable Town Football Club and join their Kent League rivals Herne Bay.
In a statement issued on www.whitstabletownfc.co.uk boss Marc Seager, whose side travel to Bedfont in the preliminary round of the FA Cup on Saturday, said: “This is a decision that has obviously saddened me, because as a manager you never like to lose good players, especially a player that has come up through the youth ranks to play in the first team.
“Aaron and I have spoken in great depths and he feels that a change of scenery and a new challenge is what he needs in his career at this moment in time.
“Aaron hasn’t featured in any first team games this season and he knows the reasons for why I haven’t selected him so far this season.
“I wouldn’t be professional of me to go public with my reasons, these are between Aaron and myself and will remain so, but as a manager you have to make decisions.
“For the record I am totally happy with the decisions I have made concerning this matter and have no doubts or regrets about any of the decisions I have taken.
“As I have already said, I am disappointed by Aaron’s departure but respect his views and he knows the door is always open here.
“I really do hope Aaron fulfils his full potential, because he has got so much to offer the game.
“I would like to thank Aaron for all his time and efforts whilst with Whitstable Town Football Club and wish him all the very best for the future on and off the field of play.”
