Seager explains King absence - EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

Saturday 21st April 2007

Marc Seager today confirmed that striker Stuart King is still a Whitstable Town player - despite speculation on Internet message boards about the 30-goal marksman, writes Stephen McCartney.

Manager Seager explained why King wasn’t part of his side that were defeated 2-1 by title rivals VCD Athletic in front of 450 fans at The Belmont, which keeps the title race going into the last seven days of the Kent League season.

“He was here today,” Seager said EXCLUSIVELY to www.kentishfootball.co.uk:  “He was not available today because he had to work, that’s why he turned up at a quarter-past-three.

“At the end of the day, we’re semi-pro footballers and people have got to work.

“It’s that full-time job that pay’s people’s mortgages and bills.”

Seager, who visit’s the Internet regularly, added: “I’ve seen things that he’s left but if he’s left, why is he down here in a Whitstable tracksuit and a Whitstable top and asking me about the arrangements for Tuesday night?

“So I don’t know where that’s come from (the rumours). I think that’s people doing a little bit of s*** stirring.”
