Ryman League announce new initiatives

Thursday 03rd July 2008

The Ryman Football League will step in line with professional football this season, writes Sam Jones.

In a new initiative at all Ryman League and Cup games, all participants and spectators must be notified of the number of minutes of added time that the referee has decided to play in addition to normal time at the end of the first half and at the end of the game, including extra time if applicable in Cup games.

This will be indicated by a member of the home club within the technical area or official holding up the appropriately numbered substitute board, equivalent to the number of minutes to be added.

The board should be clearly displayed to the players and spectators.

In conjunction with the ‘Time Added’ indicator being raised, it is recommended that the home club announce over the PA system that "there will a minimum of ‘x’ number of minutes to be added."

Ryman League officials has agreed a new three year contract with Chryso Ltd, for the provision of the Aura Pro V football to be used in all Ryman League and Cup matches which will see each member club supplied with 30 match balls.

In a change from previous seasons, as part of the new contract, clubs are required to use a white based Chryso football in matches played for the period August to November and March through to the end of the season, whilst, during the months of December, January and February a yellow based football must be used.

This is similar to what happens in the Premier League, Championship and the Football League.

For those of you who are familiar with the design of the matchball, where last season’s had blue and black markings on the white, if they use the ball shown at the recent AGM it will have black and amber markings.
