Rusthall part company with manager Paul McDonagh

Saturday 01st December 2012
RUSTHALL have confirmed that they have parted company with manager Paul McDonagh following their 2-0 home defeat to Eltham Palace today.

The Jockey Farm outfit unveiled chairman John Ronaldson, 41, will regain control of team affairs, starting with their trip to Hollands & Blair next Saturday and that he will be assisted by Ade Beaton.

The club issued a statement following today’s game, which saw Eltham Palace come away with the three points courtesy of second half goals from Joel Weston and Ben Smith.

“Rusthall chairman John Ronaldson tonight announced that the club have parted company with manager Paul McDonagh after today’s disappointing 2-0 home defeat to Eltham Palace.

“The chairman thanks Sevenoaks based McDonagh for his efforts but felt the club needed a change of direction if they were to progress.”

Rusthall are in ninth-place in the Kent Invicta League table, with five wins and a draw from their fourteen games.

Rusthall have lost their last two games, after going on a run of three successive league wins to climb the Kent Invicta League table.

McDonagh, who left his coaching role at Ryman League Division One North side Thamesmead Town to take over Rusthall during the summer, said: “Unfortunately the club and I did not agree on progression of the team and I sought other arrangements for my career after talking to the club’s committee.

“I wish Rusthall FC the best of luck in their progress as a club and have made many friends during my tenure at the club.”

Ronaldson regains control of the team to face Paul Piggot’s Hollands & Blair side who thrashed Bridon Ropes 7-2 at Star Meadow in the Kent Invicta League Challenge Trophy (sponsored by Sandom Robinson) Second Round.

Jordan Gallacher and Emmanuel Abe both scored hat-tricks against the Charlton-based side, after Cliff Eldridge scored Blair’s first of the afternoon.
