It is critical that Rusthall retain their Kent Invicta League status, says chairman Joe Croker

RUSTHALL have parted company with manager Chris Hollyoak on Wednesday night after only 14 games in charge of the Jockey Farm club.

The Rustics are the only side without a league win in the Pain & Glory Sports Kent Invicta League table, drawing three and losing nine of their 12 league games are sit second-from-bottom in the table, ahead of Lewisham Borough.

“It is with regret that Rusthall Football Club announce that first team manager Chris Hollyoak has stepped down by mutual consent with immediate effect,” said chairman Joe Croker in a statement.

“The club wish to place on record our sincere thanks for his efforts since taking over.

“Despite all of his hard work in trying to bring in players things were not working out and with the major financial investment planned for the ground in the coming months, it is critical that the club retain their Kent Invicta League status.”

In the short term former first team manager and current vice-chairman Dave Rusbridge will take the roll as caretaker manager and will be assisted by experienced coaches Dennis Leigh and Darrell Cousins.

Their first game in charge is when Seven Acre & Sidcup visit Jockey Farm on Saturday.

“After a period of stabilisation the club will consider its options for the future,” added the chairman.

Seven Acre & Sidcup go into the game sitting in thirteenth-place in the table, having collected five wins and four defeats from their nine league outings.
