Rusthall boss Jimmy Anderson brings Phil Miles into his management team
RUSTHALL manager Jimmy Anderson has appointed former Faversham Town boss Phil Miles to join his existing management team.
The Rustics were sitting at the top of the Southern Counties East Football League First Division table before slipping to second-place in the table following a 2-2 home draw against Forest Hill Park on what turned out to be the last action of the 2019-20 football season due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The National League have told its member clubs in all three of their divisions that they are targeting a September start to the 2020-21 football season but The Football Association haven’t informed other League’s when they can get back to playing competitive football again.
While rival clubs Kent Football United and Stansfeld have reported back to restricted pre-season training this week, Rusthall have added to their management team as well as sprucing up their Jockey Farm Stadium base.
“Phil Miles is well known in the world of non-league football having played as centre-half at Faversham from 1988 to 1992 before spells at Herne Bay, Deal Town, Chatham Town and Slade Green,” said a Rusthall statement.
“Phil has a wealth of managerial and coaching experience, he previously coached Chatham Town’s first-team from 2005-07 before joining forces with Danny Chapman at Ebbsfleet, where the pair helped mastermind the club’s successful academy set-up.
“Phil is father to midfielder and fan-favourite James Miles.”
