Rochester United appoint Phil Miles as their new manager
ROCHESTER UNITED have appointed Phil Miles as their new manager ahead of the forthcoming Southern Counties East Football League First Division campaign.
“Phil joined the management team in November last year and has a wealth of experience having worked with clubs such as Chatham Town, Ebbsfleet United and Faversham Town,” said a club statement.
Miles, who has also been a part of Rusthall’s management team, added: “I am delighted to be given the opportunity to manage Rochester United.
“Steve Tremain will be my assistant and this will give us the continuity that we are looking for at the club.
“Steve and I are looking forward to the season ahead and moving the club forward.”
The Rede Court Road outfit begin pre-season training tomorrow and their league campaign gets underway on Saturday 31 July 2021.
The club took part in a Pre-Lockdown summer tournament and finished bottom of the group on four points from eight games behind Chatham Town (18 points), Sheppey United (18); Punjab United (9) and Lordswood (5).
Chatham Town clinched the silverware by beating Sheppey United 8-7 on penalties after the game finished all square at 2-2 after extra time last Thursday night.
