Justin Fevrier turns down South Park manager's job to join Martin Dynan at Haywards Heath while Redhill boss Harrison Williams leaves to take charge of Sparks
REDHILL begin the search for a new manager after Harrison Williams departed to take over at Isthmian League South Central side South Park.
The Reigate outfit lost manager Martin Dynan and his assistant Justin Fevrier, who have replaced Shaun Saunders at promotion-chasing Isthmian League South East Division side Haywards Heath Town.
Williams, meanwhile, guided Redhill to impressive FA Cup shocks against Isthmian League South East Division sides Sevenoaks Town and Phoenix Sports earlier on in the season.
The Lobsters were 3-0 down after 36 minutes at Sevenoaks Town and pulled off a heroic 4-3 win over Micky Collins’ side at Greatness Park.
“Harrison Williams has confirmed this afternoon that he is taking the South Park job with immediate effect following the departure last week of their manager,” said a Redhill statement.
Tom Cope will join Williams as his assistant, with James Deacon coming in as coach at South Park.
“The club would like to recognise the positive impact that Harrison has brought to the club and our success on the pitch has created a sound platform for the club to progress in the future.”
Redhill are presently sitting in fifth-place in the Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League Premier Division South table, having collected 13 wins and five draws from their 23 games.
The Surrey side are nine points adrift of leaders Walton & Hersham, who could lose top spot if Jason Huntley’s Beckenham Town win at AFC Croydon Athletic on Tuesday night and the top-of-the-table clash against the Swans on Saturday.
Fevrier officially departed South Park following their 1-1 draw at Tooting & Mitcham United yesterday.
South Park are in ninth-place in the Isthmian League South Central Division table with 26 points from 21 games, while his new club, Haywards Heath Town are in fourth-place in the South East Division with 46 points from 24 games, nine points adrift of leaders Hastings United, who came away from Ashford United with a 2-1 win in a top-of-the-table clash at Homelands Stadium yesterday.
Fevrier, the former manager of Lewisham Borough, said: “Martin Dynan has been appointed manager of Haywards Heath Town. As a result I was offered the opportunity to step in and take on South Park’s manager role.
“I was very flattered by it and I remain grateful to the (board and committee). It was a tough decision to turn down another number one role.
“First, however, I need to show loyalty to Dynan, who has done a lot for me and we are a successful team together.
“I look forward to linking up with him.
“It was a shame we couldn’t end (my time at South Park) with three points against Tooting & Mitcham.
“Thank you to all the players who have contributed to a relatively successful three seasons.”
STORY UPDATE - 31 January 2022:
Redhill have appointed former Greenwich Borough and Guildford City boss Paul Barnes.
A club statement said: "The club is delighted to announce that Paul Barnes has taken the first team management role with immediate effect. Paul has extensive coaching and managerial experience and will help realise the clubs ambitions.
"We welcome Paul to our club and look forward to Saturday's game at home to Camberley Town."
Meanwhile, Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division side Rusthall have appointed Sam Groombridge as a coach in a bid to avoid relegation.
Groombridge was assistant manager to Michael Golding at Corinthian and joined the Jockey Farm outfit on 25 January.
