Ramsgate part company with manager Steve Lovell while sitting second in the table
RAMSGATE have confirmed the shock departure of manager Steve Lovell and his son Mark this morning.
The club confirmed the departure of the 62-year-old Welshman in a 38-word statement on their Twitter account.
Lovell took over the helm on 27 April 2022, replacing Matt Longhurst, and won two of his four games at the end of last season, with the club having to settle for a sixth-place finish.
Lovell was in charge of 33 games in all competitions during his spell in charge of the club, with Ramsgate winning 17, drawing 6 and losing 10.
“The club can confirm that we have parted company with manager Steve Lovell.
“We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Steve and his assistant Mark for their hard work during their time with us.”
The Rams lost top spot in the Isthmian League South East Division at the weekend, going down to a 2-0 defeat at Three Bridges.
Ramsgate are now in second-place, having collected 46 points from 23 games, two points adrift of leaders Chatham Town, who travel to third-placed Beckenham Town tomorrow night.
Ramsgate have not confirmed whom will be in charge for the visit of Littlehampton Town on Saturday 4 February (15:00).
