Ramsgate appoint Nick Davis as their new head coach: The opportunity to manage Ramsgate was too good to turn down!
RAMSGATE have appointed Nick Davis as their new head coach, following Lloyd Blackman’s shock departure on Saturday night.
Davis, who has left Phoenix Sports where he formed part of Paul Bryon’s management team, played for Ramsgate under former manager Jim Ward and admits he is relishing a return to Southwood.
Davis told www.ramsgate-fc.co.uk: “The opportunity to manage Ramsgate was too good to turn down!
“I would like to thank Paul Bowden-Brown, the club’s CEO and Richard Lawson, the club’s owner for having faith in me and giving me the opportunity to manage the club that I once played for.
“I look forward to building on the position we are currently in.”
Chief Executive Paul Bowden Brown is excited by the appointment of the former Sittingbourne manager.
“Davis played for me at Maidstone United under Jim Ward, so I have watched his career pathway within the Non-League scene with interest, he said.
“I believe he is the correct person for the vacant manager’s role and it became apparent we shared the exact same aspirations for stability and success.
“Nick has been offered the same increase in the budget as our previous manager to supplement the array of talent we already have in the dressing room.
“We want a successful future, something the club and the supporters thoroughly deserve.”
Davis’ first game in charge of the club will be on Saturday, 15 December (15:00) when seventh-placed Ashford United visit Southwood Stadium.
Ramsgate presently sit in thirteenth-place in the Bostik South East Division table with 17 points from their 15 league games.
