We're Looking forward to what we know will be a difficult game at Faversham Town, particularly now Ray Turner and Clive Walker are overseeing team affairs, says Ramsgate assistant coach Terry Sedge

RAMSGATE assistant coach Terry Sedge says his team go into tomorrow’s game at Faversham Town with confidence.

The Rams are in the bottom four in the Isthmian League South East Division table, having collected eight points from as many games.

Three Bridges (seven points from 10 games), Burgess Hill Town (six points from nine) and East Grinstead Town (three points from nine games) are below them in the table.

Hosts Faversham Town are in fourteenth-place in the table, having banked 10 points from their nine league games.

The Rams are unbeaten since Sedge, Joe Radford and Jason Lillis took the helm, having beaten East Grinstead Town (2-0), Three Bridges (0-0),  beating Sittingbourne 5-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in the Kent Senior Cup and beating Hythe Town 1-0 in the Velocity Trophy.

Ramsgate followed that up by beating Whyteleafe 3-1 at Southwood Stadium in the league last Saturday.

“Looking forward to what we know will be a difficult game, particularly now Ray Turner and Clive Walker are overseeing team affairs,” said Sedge.

“I’ve got a great deal of respect for both of them, with their ability to motivate players, knowledge of the game and the disciplined way their team play.

“Of course, we are going into the game with confidence after a good performance against Whyteleafe last Saturday.

“It was good to have three different players score but I would have preferred a clean sheet but a lapse in concentration allowed them to score – but we learn and move on.

“Things have gone reasonably well since Jason and I arrived to team up with Joe.  The players’ have been great, the way they have accepted what’s been asked of them and they had a good work ethic and attitude to their game time.

“We have a couple of knocks going into tomorrow’s game, which will be assessed before decisions are made on the starting 11.  Hopefully things go our way and we are smiling after the game, sending the Ramsgate faithful home happy once more, safe journey to those that travel.”
