We had a great team meeting midweek to try to get this season back on track and I expect a response tomorrow to show the pride and passion to play at this club, says Punjab United boss Chipie Sian

PUNJAB UNITED manager Chipie Sian says a positive team meeting during midweek will get their season back on track.

The Gravesend based side sit at the foot of the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table, having lost all five of their opening league games.

Their only win came in The FA Vase when they beat Selsey 5-0 at their Elite Venue ground in the First Qualifying Round and they host Loxwood in the Second Qualifying Round tomorrow.

Loxwood, who hail from West Sussex near Billingshurst, sit in the bottom four in the Southern Combination Premier Division table, having drawn four of their seven league games.

“It’s great to be in the Second Round of The FA Vase.  It’s a good feeling getting through to this round and to get a home draw again is fantastic,” said Sian.

“We are hoping to get a good crowd again and hope we can have another win.

“I don’t know much about Loxwood but I have seen some of their games online and they look a good side so we have to be on top of our game.

“Our season hasn’t got started yet. We have been unlucky in some games but we can’t keep going this way, we need to get results and only the players can go out and fight for each point.

“We had a great team meeting midweek to try to get this season back on track and I expect a response tomorrow to show the pride and passion to play at this club.

“Each and every player has to show they want to be here and play for Punjab. I know we can turn this season into a successful one and hope we start tomorrow against Loxwood.”
