Portsmouth outfit warn others about "the non-league robber"

Tuesday 28th March 2006

Information has been received that there is a thief going around local football clubs tricking his way into changing rooms and stealing mobile phones and cash, reports the Wessex League news bulletin.

The latest club being Sussex County League Sidley. He tricked his way into the changing rooms by stating that he was the away side’s assistant manager and they let him into the changing room.

He simply ransacked their belongings and disappeared. When one of the victims phoned his mobile phone the reply was "Unlucky mate - you’ve just been done over by the non-league robber"

There has been a string of similar thefts in the South. Please be vigilant as this thief is targeting Football clubs - so lock up the valuables.

This information comes from the secretary of US Portsmouth Tim Gilks.
