It is important for us this season to turn our ground into a fortress, to use our home advantage and pick up as many wins as we can in front of our home fans, says Phoenix Sports boss Paul Bryon
PHOENIX SPORTS manager Paul Bryon says he wants his team to make their home ground a fortress this season.
The Barnehurst based club are sitting in seventh-place in the Isthmian League South East Division table and welcome Brighton-based Whitehawk tomorrow.
Bryon’s men have a 50% record from their opening four league games and Bryon searches for more consistency from his men, having came away from Hythe Town with a 4-0 win last weekend, before coming back from Burgess Hill Town with a 2-0 defeat on Tuesday night.
“Off the back of a great performance last Saturday, we never did ourselves justice in midweek,” admitted Bryon.
“Stringing results together is never easy in this league and this is a key area of improvement for us this season.”
Whitehawk are sitting in sixteenth-place in the table, having picked up a point from their opening three games and are expected to be challenging for promotion.
“Whitehawk are always a well-organised team, so it should be a close and hopefully entertaining game,” said Bryon.
“Finally, we get to play again at our home and we look forward to seeing as many familiar faces as possible and do our best to give them something to cheer about.
“With some exciting young players coming through and strong performances from the more established members of the squad, there is plenty to be excited about.
“It is important for us this season to turn our ground into a fortress, to use our home advantage and pick up as many wins as we can in front of our home fans.
“At this point I would like to thank everyone involved in the club for the continued support and efforts to make matchday at Phoenix a rare feeling of normality.”
