Pennock praises team for ten game unbeaten run

Tuesday 24th October 2006
Welling United extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to 10 games on Saturday with an impressive 5-0 home win to Bedford Town.

A brace from on-form striker Che Stadhart, one for Danny Kedwell and two own goals wrapped up a perfect afternoon for the Wings.

Welling made just the one change for the side that won midweek in the FA Cup against AFC Hornchurch with the versatile Steve Perkins replacing defender Chris Moore.

Wings boss Adrian Pennock told www.wellingunited.com : "A fantastic win, I thought from the first whistle to the last we were superb. I thought we thoroughly deserved it and all the players were first class.

“I love clean sheets, and I know this team can score goals so if we can keep clean sheets we will win more games than not.

”The overall performance was fantastic, especially after Wednesday as it was difficult. I thought the fans really got behind us and all credit to them, as I’m really pleased the team put on a performance for the fans.

“I’m going to give Che Stadhart the hat trick, as he worked very well with Kedwell. The wide boys looked dangerous, the midfield players picked up all the second balls and the goals came from upfront so a very pleasing result."
