Our next two home games are very important, says Burman
Dartford manager Tony Burman will be without his top goalscorer (12 goals) Ryan Hayes tonight as they look to consolidate their position in the Southern League Division One East play-off places.
The former Slade Green winger misses the game with Uxbridge, having picked up five bookings this season.
Dartford, however, failed to collect any points, conceding three goals against the west Londoners and Saturday’s opponents Rothwell Town away from home and the Darts stalwart sees these two home matches as “very important home games inside week”.
“We face Uxbridge in the first of two very important home games inside a week,” he told www.dartfordfootballclub.co.uk
“I hope we can perform better than we did against our opponents away from home as they have both taken three points off us in those games.”
Dartford - unbeaten at home in the league - were without a game at the weekend, as their game against Sittingbourne was brought forward but results went for them and now enjoy a six point lead over sixth placed Kent rivals Chatham Town.
“Without a game last Saturday it gave teams around us to gain or increase their points,” he said.
“I felt we came out of it ok but lets be honest about what we do. We must not rely on what other teams do around us.”
With photographs of their new Princes Park stadium rising from the ground being published on www.princespark.co.uk there is a feel good factor - both on and of the pitch.
“As we move into the last third of the season we are going to try and enjoy every single game as I believe that when players are happy off the field they will be confident on it and I am going to do my best to make sure this happens.”
Burman calls on the support of supporters to see them through their next two games, but if you cannot get to Stonebridge Road, www.kentishfootball.co.uk will be providing LIVE coverage from tonight’s game.
