We feel we should be four points better off, says Orpington boss Byron Beard

Friday 18th September 2015

ORPINGTON manager Byron Beard says there is a lot of interest in tomorrow’s clash at local rivals Glebe.

The O’s travel to Foxbury Avenue sitting in sixth-place in the Kent Invicta League table with four wins, two draws and one defeat, while Simon Copley’s side sit in second-place in the table, four points adrift of league leaders Gravesham Borough.

Beard said:  “The season so far has gone well although it could have been better.

“We feel we should be four points better off but our unavailable list is currently huge with 10 missing last week against Sheppey.

“We’re looking forward to tomorrow. There is a lot of interest from both sides from management through to the players.  Many have played for both including me!

“I think it’s going to be a tight game, as the same as last year.  I think it will be decided by the odd goal as defensively both teams have one of the best goals against tally.

“Despite missing five tomorrow we go into the match confident and if the guys turn up to this local derby in the right frame of mine then who knows that will happen?

“This is a great game for someone to come to watch at a great facility.”
