O'Brien is our new born-leader, says Burman

Dartford boss Tony Burman has made his third summer signing today - by bringing his long-term target Alex O’Brien to Princes Park.

O’Brien, 29, who has signed from Ryman Premier League side Tonbridge Angels, is a ball-winning midfielder and Burman is delighted to have finally secured his services on a one-year contract.

“I am delighted to have signed Alex O’Brien from Tonbridge Angels this afternoon,” he told www.dartfordfc.co.uk.

“It has been no secret that I have been trying to secure his services for the last two seasons.

WELCOME:  Alex O'Brien has today signed a one-year contract at Ryman League Division One South club Dartford

“Alex came on loan to us in December, and I was disappointed I could not persuade Tonbridge Angels to part company with him.

“I also tried in vain before the transfer deadline, as I feel that Alex is a born leader who gets the best out of the players who play alongside him, and in my opinion, his attitude is second to none.”

Meanwhile, striker Dominic Elmes has today signed for Dartford's Ryman League Division One South rivals, Chatham Town.
