O'Boyle takes up Dalers' job
KENT LEAGUE outfit Holmesdale have appointed Steve O’Boyle as the club’s new assistant manager, writes Stephen McCartney.
O’Boyle has departed Thamesmead Town, where he won many honours at youth and reserve team level to take up the post at Oakley Road as Holmesdale prepare for their second ever Kent League campaign.
Thamesmead, who themselves are preparing for their first as a Ryman League club, have appointed Wayne Barrett as their new reserve team manager and he will be assisted by Anthony Potts.
“I’m really happy with this appointment and we’d like to thank Steve for all of the fantastic work he’s done for the club and wish him well at Holmesdale,” said Mead’s first team manager Keith McMahon, speaking to www.thamesmeadtownfc.co.uk.
All of last season’s Kent League double winning squad have signed on for next season, including the club’s hottest property.
“Lee Dawson is a great prospect and has been with us for years,” said McMahon.
“This signing, along with Wayne becoming reserve team manager, shows Thamesmead like to produce talent and promote from within.”
