Welling United were without the injured Danny Kedwell, Lee Shearer, Adrian Clarke and Steve Perkins for their trip to Newport County last night.
The Wings were 1-0 down within the first 20 minutes of the game after Matt Green put the home side in front.
Welling were level just after the hour mark when a Jamie Day corner was deflected into the net by a Newport player.
Newport restored their lead just 15 minutes later when Wings defender Barry Ashby miss-hit a back pass straight past keeper Jamie Turner into his own net. However, the Wings escaped with a point four minutes into injury time when Jamie Day converted a free-kick just outside the area.
