Metrogas appoint Wayne Priestman as their new manager

METROGAS chairman Tim Morgan has appointed Wayne Priestman as the clubs new first-team manager.

Metrogas were looking for a new manager after Blaine Horne's departure earlier in the month.

“After a chat and meeting with Wayne this club it was clear to me straight away that Wayne was the perfect candidate for the first team role,” Morgan said in a statement.

“He has a fantastic pedigree in senior management as well as in youth football.

“Given the success of our youth sides over the last couple of seasons and the clubs desire to see these players progress into senior football, having someone of Wayne’s experience made him the ideal person to take over and it was a very easy decision for me and the club to make.

“I personally cannot wait for Wayne to get started and with his appointment now gives him and the club plenty of time to prepare for the coming season.

“Wayne will get the full support of the club and both his and the clubs ambitions are clearly aligned and I can’t wait for him to get started in the coming weeks.”

Metrogas finished their first campaign playing home games at Bayliss Avenue in Thamesmead in sixth-place in the Kent County League Division One West table.
