Margate invite supporters to Public Meeting to discuss Hartsdown Park redevelopment

Monday 21st February 2011
MARGATE would like to remind supporters and members of the local community about the Public Meeting arranged for Wednesday 23rd February at the Westgate Pavilion, Sea Road, Westgate-On-Sea, Margate, Kent, CT8 8QW.

The purpose of the meeting is to provide an opportunity for Margate Football Club to present the facts on the proposed plans for the development of the Margate Football Club stadium, 3G football pitch and Travelodge Hotel.

A club statement, published on the club’s official website www.margate-fc.com  said: ”We believe that there has been some misunderstanding about the scale and scope of the proposed development, and the club would like to give the local community an opportunity to hear the situation first hand, and to ask questions.

“As well as Margate Football Club officials, the project architects will be on hand to talk about the plans. In addition, attendees will also hear about the club’s community work through the Margate FC Academy and Margate Learning Zone.

“An open invitation to the meeting has been issued to supporters, members of the local community, including opponents of the re-development proposal. The club has also issued invitations to all members of Thanet District Council and our two local Members of Parliament, Roger Gale and Laura Sandys.”

The meeting starts at 8pm.

The Ryman Premier League club is able to offer free transport for supporters and other members of the public unable to travel independently to the meeting.

To register for free transport by mini bus, please call the club on 01843 221769 or by emailing office@margate-fc.com  -  where you can provide the name of the person travelling, pick up address, contact telephone number and email address if applicable.
