Margate boss Andy Drury appoints the returning Reece Prestedge as his assistant manager
MARGATE manager Andy Drury has appointed Reece Prestedge as his new assistant manager.
Prestedge, 36, joined the Isthmian League Premier Division club in 2019 and took up the role of first-team coach in Jay Saunders’ management team before leaving Hartsdown Park in the summer but returned to the club yesterday.
“It’s great to have Reece back involved at the club. He knows the place inside out and has worked with some of the boys here before,” Drury told the club website.
“I felt after the weekend I wanted to make some changes within my own staff and once I knew that Reece was up for it then it was a no brainer really.”
Prestedge replaces James Scott, who departed Hartsdown Park on Sunday following the 3-1 defeat at Aveley the previous day.
“It’s a shame things have not worked out the way I’d hoped as the club is one I hold close to my heart, being a Thanet boy,” added Scott.
Margate are in sixteenth-place in the Isthmian League Premier Division table with two wins and two draws from their opening eight games and welcome Haringey Borough to Hartsdown Park tonight (19:45).
