Maidstone United retain Chris Lewington and Gavin Hoyte
MAIDSTONE UNITED have confirmed Chris Lewington and Gavin Hoyte have agreed deals to stay at the club next season.
Goalkeeper Lewington, 31, signed for the Vanarama National League South club in 2019. Alongside his goalkeeper coaching role at the club, he made 28 appearances.
Defender and vice-captain Hoyte, 30, meanwhile, made 41 appearances and scored twice in his debut season after joining last summer from Vanarama National League side Dagenham & Redbridge.
Chief executive Bill Williams told the club website: “Chris and Gavin were key players for us last season and the owners were keen to retain their services.
“I am sure supporters will be delighted to see these two back, just as much as I am delighted to be announcing some football news at last.
“As Terry (Casey) mentioned earlier this week, we’re still talking to a couple of last season’s squad and have a target list of players we’d like to bring in. Hopefully, we’ll have some more news in the very near future.”
The club have retained the services of Ibby Akanbi, Ibrahim Olutade, Jake Embery, Saidou Khan and Sam Corne.
