Maidstone United sign striker Jonathan Edwards: Having a manager like John Still is going to be good for me as you can’t ask for anyone with more experience in the game than him
MAIDSTONE UNITED have unveiled the signing of former FC Halifax Town striker Jonathan Edwards, 22, who arrives on a one-year contract.
Edwards started his career with Stevenage before signing a professional contract with Peterborough United. He had loan spells with Bishop’s Stortford, Biggleswade Town, Ilkeston and St Albans City before joining Dunstable Town in 2016.
From there, the Luton-born forward attracted the interest of Hull City who gave him a one-year contract following a successful trial with their under-21s. During his time at Hull City he had loan spells with Accrington Stanley and Woking – making his debut for the Cards in the 4-4 draw against the Stones.
A year ago he moved across the Pennines to join Halifax Town on the eve of the new season.
“When I heard of the interest I knew it would be a great opportunity for me to kick on and get back down south to be nearer my family,” Edwards told www.maidstoneunited.co.uk.
“I’ve always believed in my own abilities and attributes and having a manager like John Still is going to be good for me as you can’t ask for anyone with more experience in the game than him.
“I am happy and excited to be here, willing to learn and can’t wait to get started and scoring some goals!”
ALDERSHOT TOWN have unveiled the signing of former Dover Athletic goalkeeper Mitch Walker, 27, bringing to an end his six-year stay at Crabble.
FOREST GREEN ROVERS have unveiled the signing of midfielder Ebou Adams, 23, on a two-year contract, having signed him for an undisclosed transfer fee.
WELLING UNITED have retained the services of their goalkeeper Dan Wilks, 23, and French midfielder Julien Anau, 24.
