Since Nikki Bull took over Margate have gone on a good run including the win over us, says Maidstone United boss Jay Saunders

Friday 01st January 2016

MAIDSTONE UNITED manager Jay Saunders says he wants his side to stay in and around the play-off places come the end of the season.

The Stones welcome a vastly-improved Margate tomorrow sitting in second-place in the Vanarama National League table on 41 points from 23 games.

Saunders’ side are 10 points adrift of league leaders Ebbsfleet United, while Margate are in 15th place in the table after winning two and drawing one of Nikki Bull’s three games in charge of the club since taking over from Terry Brown.

“Tomorrow is another difficult game for us,” admitted Saunders.

“Since Nikki Bull took over Margate have gone on a good run including the win over us!

“But we have had a great first half of the season and our aim is to keep improving and try and stay around the play-off places.”

The two Kent sides met at Hartsdown Park on Boxing Day, with Margate claiming the three points and bragging rights through Freddie Ladapo’s strike.

The Margate striker has scored 12 goals this season.

This game has been made ALL-TICKET.
