Mickey Doyle jumps off his Lydd Town roller coaster ride with only 11 days before the start of maiden ninth-tier campaign
LYDD TOWN begin the search for a new manager only 11 days before their maiden campaign in the ninth-tier of English football.
Mickey Doyle, who guided the club to the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division for the first time, has announced his shock departure from Dengemarsh Road.
“My reasons are purely due to commitment reasons with family and my work load increasing, allowing me less time to put my efforts into football, which I felt would be unfair on the club, my management team and the lads,” said Doyle.
“I would like to thank (the committee) and the club for trusting me with the club and all the people that worked closely with me throughout my time.
“Lastly, thanks to every play that put a shirt on for me.
“I would like to wish the club every success in the future. I said at the start it would be a rollercoaster ride and it was a great one and enjoyed every part of it.”
Lydd Town have cancelled tonight’s home pre-season friendly against Isthmian League South East Division side Phoenix Sports.
The club are inviting applications for the vacant managerial role as they prepare for Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division campaign at home to Holmesdale on Saturday 29 July.
