Lott opts for move to Dulwich Hamlet

Tuesday 04th November 2008

ERITH & BELVEDERE midfielder Kevin Lott has been snapped up by Ryman League Division One South outfit Dulwich Hamlet, writes Stephen McCartney.

The 24-year-old combative midfielder had attracted a lot of attention from higher league clubs since his arrival at Park View Road this season and has therefore opted for a move to Champion Hill.

He started his career in Dover Athletic’s reserve side before establishing himself in their first team under Clive Walker, before joining Ashford Town in 2006 before dropping down a division to Kent League Deres at the start of this season.

Lott made his Hamlet debut in their recent 4-3 home win over Kent side Whitstable Town and looks set to play a major role for the south Londoners in the coming months.

The last player to make the switch from the Deres to the Hamlet was striker Chris Dickson, who then went on to play for Charlton Athletic.

Meanwhile, Deres’ defender Mitchell Crawley played 80 minutes of Saturday’s reserve team outing against Sevenoaks Town on his comeback from injury.

Fourth placed Deres, who are ten points off top spot, although they do have three games in hand on leaders Hythe Town, welcome a Lordswood side to Park View Road tonight.

The Lords have lost all of their seven league games this term, only having a better goal-difference than perennial whipping boys Sporting Bengal United.
