LEWISHAM BOROUGH chairman Lance Roberts has announced Owen Spence as the clubs new manager after careful consideration.
“After careful consideration and review of all applicants, we are glad to announce the appointment of the new Lewisham Borough first team manager Owen Spence,” said a club statement.
“Owen was the former first-team assistant manager and current under 23s manager at Carshalton Athletic.
“During his time involved in the sport, Owen has a proven track record of developing players from non-league to the professional game.
“He brings with him a wealth of experience from his time working at Carshalton Athletic and we look forward to him helping us driving Lewisham Borough forward.
“Please join us in welcoming Owen to the club and wishing him success in his new position.”
Lewisham Borough are in eleventh-place in the Southern Counties East Football League First Division table, having won seven and drawn three of their 16 league games.
The Ladywell Arena based club have won two and lost four of their last six games without a manger since Justin Fevrier departed to join Isthmian South Central Division side South Park and they lost 3-2 to Forest Hill Park in their last outing on Saturday.
Spence’s first game will be on Saturday 4 January 2020 when league leaders Rochester United visit Ladywell Arena.
Rochester United are only two points clear of Kennington, who have a couple of games in hand.
