Lewisham Borough chairman Ray Simpson appoints a director of strategy
LEWISHAM BOROUGH (Community) have appointed Annette Stead to the role of vice-chair and director of strategy.
The club play their games at the Ladywell Arena and finished at the bottom of 16 clubs in the Kent Invicta League last season, having won only four of 30 league games.
The Kent Invicta League will have 20 clubs for the first time in its five year history this coming season.
Lewisham Borough finished in the top eight (of 16 clubs) in the Kent Invicta League’s inaugural season in 2011-12, before finishing bottom in the following season and third-from-bottom in season 2013-14.
Stead, who was the head of sport and recreation at the London Borough of Lewisham, brings with her significant experience and expertise which will enhance the club.
Chairman Ray Simpson has expressed his delight at the appointment.
He said: “I am overwhelmed Annette has agreed to come on board. She has been an instrumental player in the development of the club over the last 12 years helping to achieve its current status.
“She will have a pivotal role in progressing the club further.”
