We’ve lost 10 players this season to seven-dayers. We really see that as a positive but it’s a bit of a shame we’re developing players’ for other clubs. Shame they can’t develop their own, says K Sports boss Barry Morgan

K SPORTS manager Barry Morgan says he is fed up having 10 of his players’ being prised away by rival clubs this season.

Morgan has performed miracles to get the Aylesford based club into fourteenth-place in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table on 32 points from their 31 games, on limited resources.

However, the Paperboys travel to tenth-placed Crowborough Athletic tomorrow, on the back of six straight defeats, having suffered a 6-1 home defeat to Punjab United last Saturday.

“Our last game was a bit of a shame, none of our players were on song.  We made bad errors for a few of the goals.  We were down to 10 men for half the game as well,” said Morgan.

“Under those circumstances when most of the team are 18 years old and the opposition are the most experienced side in the league, accidents can happen.

“The previous five games we’ve been beaten by the odd goal and should have won a few of those games.

“When you consider we’re literally K Sports’ under 18s some weeks, I think we’re developing very well.

“Hopefully, we can have a positive reaction against Crowborough.”

Morgan, who works without a budget, revealed the club faces an unsecure future.

He said: “As far as players’ are concerned, we’ve lost 10 this season to seven-dayers.  We really see that as a positive but it’s a bit of a shame we’re developing players’ for other clubs.  Shame they can’t develop their own!

“As for the rest of the season, we’re going to work hard to pick up a few more positive results and positive development in our youngsters.  You never know we might still be going next season.”
