Looking at the remaining fixtures I would say Punjab and Fisher have the easiest run in but we will as always keep going and see how we end up, says K Sports boss Kris Browning

K SPORTS manager Kris Browning insists his side will not slip up against whipping boys Crockenhill tomorrow.

The Crocks are rooted to the foot of the Southern Counties East Football League First Division table having won three of their 25 league games this season and arrive at Cobdown having lost their last 10 games.

K Sports, meanwhile, were thankful to a last-gasp penalty from super-sub striker Caine Smith to grab a point in a 2-2 draw at Fisher last Saturday.

Punjab United rose to the summit after their 6-2 win at fifth-placed side Kent Football United last weekend and are a point clear of Browning’s men going into their final 14 league games of the season.

“We entertain Crockenhill tomorrow and we will not take them for granted,” insists Browning.

“Crockenhill are a decent club who have struggled over the last few seasons but you have to give them a lot of credit and respect as whatever the result they’re always friendly and hospitable.

“Steve Cullen (chairman) is the main man there and in opinion he deserves a medal for keeping the club going. There's not many clubmen like him around anymore.”

Third-placed Fisher are six points behind K Sports and reflecting on their draw on the banks of the River Thames, Browning said: “We gained a great point away at Fisher last week.  We looked dead and buried when they scored what seemed to be the winner in the 92nd minute and maybe on reflection on chances created that would’ve been a fair result, but our lot never know when to give in and Caine Smith won us a penalty, scored it and got us a massive point away from home.

“Gaining that point away has given the squad a massive lift. It was a good advert for our league and Fisher with their superb facilities and great supporters behind them will be hard to stop.

“Looking at the remaining fixtures I would say Punjab and Fisher have the easiest run in but we will as always keep going and see how we end up.”
