We can’t believe that we are third from top and in with a slight chance of promotion, says K Sports' manager Kris Browning

K SPORTS’ manager Kris Browning has bolstered his squad by signing four new players ahead of the business end of the season.

The Paperboys travel to Bromley to play ninth-placed side Holmesdale tomorrow sitting in third-place in the Southern Counties East Football League First Division table.

They have bagged 59 points from their 26 league games and have 12 league games left to play.

Rusthall lead the way with 67 points from their 28 league games, while Glebe are four points behind but with three games in hand on the Tunbridge Wells outfit.

“Everything is fine with me and looking forward to this part of the season,” said Browning.

“We can’t believe that we are third from top and in with a slight chance of promotion.

“If someone said to me back in September after we got thumped 6-1 by Rusthall - and had 12 away games on the trot to play - that come March we’d be third from top and in with a shout of promotion, I would’ve snatched their arm off!

“Since then we have just got better and better.  I still feel it’s Rusthall and Glebe’s to lose as they have the better resources but like the Sutton’s and Kent Football United’s in the league, we are all there with a shout if they slip up.

“We have exceeded all expectations this season.”

Browning has snapped up Jack Healy (Leatherhead), Tom Carr (Sittingbourne), Charly Himbury (Thamesmead Town) while much-travelled striker Richard Sinden, 37, will help out when needed.

“These are signing’s that aren’t just for this season but for the next few seasons,” added Browning.

“The ground is still being worked on and we will have new changing rooms, gym and sportshall by July.

“Mark Pickup has joined the club as new joint-chairman and already he has a massive impact within the club.

“As a club we are on the right path and now boost a youth section with 20 teams and looking to start a third adult team next season.

“But first things first, we now have four away games on the spin. First up is Holmesdale away tomorrow, who we know are a good side and well-organised, but we go there with a great squad and full of confidence.”
