Kimble slams "dismal" defender during cup shocker - EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW
Gravesend & Northfleet assistant manager Alan Kimble criticised the clubs youngsters for their “dismal” display as they crashed out of the Kent Senior Cup last night, writes Stephen McCartney.
Ryman Premier League side Tonbridge Angels raced into a 4-0 lead after just twenty minutes and went onto win the first round tie 7-3 at a wet Betterview Longmead Stadium with Danny Ekoku, John Akinde and Chris Anderson scoring for the Fleet.
Fleet star Mark DeBolla got 45 minutes under his belt and Liam Coleman impressed in the middle of the park.
But it was a very bleak night for the travelling Fleet fans in the 156 crowd - Tonbridge’s lowest of the season.
Kimble explained what he had learnt from their cup shocker.
“Well, first and foremost you can’t give them a four goal start,” he said EXCLUISVELY to www.kentishfootball.co.uk last night.
“Defensively first half we were dismal but credit to the boys battled back to get it back to 4-3.”
A disappointed Kimble added: “Whatever team a Fleet team put out you shouldn’t really concede seven goals the way we did tonight.”
