Kent clubs search for sponsors

SEVERAL Kent Ryman League clubs are searching for sponsors as they prepare for the new season, writes Stephen McCartney.

THAMESMEAD TOWN have announced ambitious sponsorship plans, new season ticket prices and have created new positions at the club as they prepare for their first ever season in the Ryman League.

As the club begin the expensive task of adapting to promotion, they are inviting companies to bid for the opportunity to sponsor the name of their ground at Bayliss Avenue.

“With the redevelopment of the ground and region wide press exposure, this is a great opportunity for a company to get their name heard by naming our stadium,” said Keith McMahon, the club’s first team manager, when speaking to www.thamesmeadtownfc.co.uk.

“A similar scheme paid dividends for Folkestone Invicta when local travel firm Buzzlines, sponsored their stadium, now the Buzzlines Stadium, signing a 5 year, 5 figure deal.

“A deal like this would not only secure good players, but ensure that the club can operate successfully in the community and at youth level over the coming year.”

In addition to this initiative, the club are offering season tickets for the very first time priced at £150 for adults and £75 for under 16s and concessions. The price includes admission to Thamesmead's 21 home Ryman League games and a free match day programme.

Promotion also brings operational pressures and the club are advertising for a Commercial Manager, an Operational Development Officer and match day Stewards for next season.

Press Officer, Kevin White explained the move forward, adding: “Promotion is great, but if the club are to continue to be successful and strive in the Ryman League we need further commercial input to compete at this level and we need people who can help us drive forward with our plans.”

Anybody interested in season tickets, sponsorship, or fulfilling any of the above positions should contact the club at ttfcpress@hotmail.com or Thamesmead Town Football Club,
Bayliss Avenue, Thamesmead, London, SE28 8NJ. or telephone 0208 311 4211.

SITTINGBOURNE has re-evaluated its Patrons club and are inviting all local and not so local businesses to become members.

The Patrons club will offer a number of privileges to members, including board room hospitality and free entry to home league games, plus advertising boards at Bourne Park.

These privileges are being offered at a special close season price of £1,000 for next season.

There are also exciting opportunities to have your name on the main stand and small standing stand as sponsors of that facility.

Sponsorship of Bourne Park is also available. To get more information on the Patrons Club and sponsorship opportunities send Peter Pitts an e-mail via the “contact us” button on www.sittingbournefc.co.uk.

Whilst DOVER ATHLETIC are searching for new sponsors after Sea France pulled out after one season, their Ryman Premier League rivals TONBRIDGE ANGELS are also finding difficulties attracting sponsors, despite things going well on the pitch under boss Tommy Warrilow.

Speaking to the Kent and Sussex Courier Newspaper, Angels vice-chairman Garry Pass explained the current situation.

He said: “It is going to be a real uphill struggle to get local businesses to support the club. We sent out 1,000 letters offering sponsorship packages and match packages but only had one reply back.”

And your favourite Kent football website - www.kentishfootball.co.uk  - is still searching for a sponsor to assist with the running costs of running the site.

Benefits include a home page advert and link to your company website.
