Ford posted the following statement on his coaching firms website.
“It is going to be a long road of rehabilitation and physio. However, I am determined to get back to full fitness as soon as possible.
“I thought that I would put up a message to thank the hundreds of people that have been in contact, sent messages, visited and sent get well cards.
“I have been overwhelmed by the support and encouragement shown by everyone.
“Please feel free to visit me. I will see you all soon!”
Kevin Watson, the manager of Cray Valley, visited Ford on 28 April and handed over his Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division championship winning medal.
