Thursday 22nd May 2014
RAMSGATE manager Justin Luchford has confirmed James Sherman has put pen to paper to stay at the club.

Sherman, 24, an attacking midfielder, who was born in Hobart, Tasmania, played in friendlies for Port Vale and Scunthorpe United in 2008 before returning to Australia to play for Melbourne Knights.

However, he moved to England in 2010 and played for Margate before joining Ramsgate to play for their reserve side in 2012/13 as a striker, where following solid performances and several goals he broke into the first team squad.

Luchford told www.ramsgate-fc.co.uk that Sherman has agreed to re-sign for the club last night.

“I am delighted to announce that James Sherman will be a Ram next season,” said Luchford.

“Jim agreed terms and signed for the club last night.

“Since I have been here James’ attitude has been amongst the best in the club and has given everything both on and off the pitch.

“It has been a pleasure to work with him and he will be one of my two vice-captains next season.

“His work-rate, desire and enthusiasm are infectious and everyone in the dressing room has respect for him and enjoys playing with him too.

“He will be an integral part of the squad for next season and I for one I am very much looking forward to working with him once again.”
