I'm looking forward to more exciting times with Stones, says returning Strouts
Former Maidstone United captain Jimmy Strouts has returned to the club as player-coach this lunchtime.
Strouts, who was part of the Whitstable Town team which recently won promotion to the Ryman League, will assist joint-managers Alan Walker and Lloyd Hume and physio Tim Warden with the first team fitness and training.
The signing today of the UEFA B qualified coach comes at a crucial time for the Ryman Premier League newcomers with Walker currently recovering from a freak injury three weeks ago.
Speaking about his comeback, Strouts, whose won back-to-back Kent League titles, told www.maidstoneunited.co.uk: “I was in contact with Walks and Lloydy about a coaching role and following Alan’s injury, things moved on quite quickly.
“I was disappointed to leave the club midway through last season but I’m pleased they kept an eye on me and my achievements at Whitstable Town.
“These are exciting times for Maidstone United and I’m really pleased to be part of it.”
