FAVERSHAM Strike Force cemented their commitment to player development with Tom Holmes representing the club’s first team last Saturday, 12 seasons after making his club debut.

Holmes, who has played for every team from under 6’s to under 18’s, turned out for the clubs NRG Gym Kent County League Division One East side in a narrow defeat to Borden Village.

A proud Holmes told the club’s website: “I am delighted to play for the senior side. Strike Force has given me the structure to develop and reach my potential. I am going to work hard to ensure I keep getting these opportunities and putting on the Strike Force shirt”.

This season the club will have 16 teams from under 6’s through to seniors, who will represent the club in both local and countywide leagues and cup competitions.

Club manager Gary Axford, who founded the club in 1999, said, “Player development is at the forefront of everything the club does. We have a clear player pathway from our development squad through to our first team. We have a place in our club for all players regardless of age or ability”.
