HOLMESDALE have appointed Jamie Fernandes as a strength and conditioning coach.

The 28-year-old has done received praise for his pre-season work with Erith 147 Sports and Long Lane in the Kent County League and Kent Invicta League new boys FC Elmstead, but has now joined up with their Southern Counties East Football League landlords Holmesdale, managed by former Bromley midfielder John Wilfort.

“I’m extremely happy to have been given the opportunity by Holmesdale to become part of their management team as a player/strength and conditioning coach,” said Fernandes.

“I feel proud that the work I have done this pre-season with teams across Kent has been noticed by John Wilfort and Ross Mitchell.

“Holmesdale are a terrific club and are constantly growing.

“I would like to open up and say special thanks to Fabio Rossi and Danny Wakeling for allowing me to become part of the FC Elmstead management team during the course of pre-season.

“They gave me free reign to carry out high intensity fitness sessions which was great for my own personal development.

“I am sad to leave FC Elmstead because Danny and Fabio have been extremely supportive of me and the project they are cultivating there is exciting.

“I wish them and the players all the best in their first season in the Kent Invicta League.”

Holmesdale, who play at Oakley Road in Bromley, complete their pre-season campaign with home games against Horsham (Saturday) and Kent County League Division One West side Chipstead (Tuesday 4 August).

The Dalers open their Southern Counties East Football League campaign with a home clash against Greenwich Borough on Wednesday 12 August (7:45pm).

FC Elmstead, meanwhile, make their Kent Invicta League debut with a home game against local rivals Orpington – at Oakley Road on Friday 7 August (7:45pm).
