Every game is a challenge at this level and you have to approach each and every game correctly if you want to collect wins in the league and Fisher tomorrow is certainly no exception, says Holmesdale joint-boss Lee Roots
HOLMESDALE joint-manager Lee Roots says he is looking forward to the challenge that promotion chasing side Fisher will bring his side tomorrow.
The Bromley based side are in ninth-place in the Southern Counties East Football League First Division table with 31 points from 21 games.
Aylesford-based K Sports lead the way with 53 points from 21 games, followed by Gravesend-based outfit Punjab United (49 points from 21) and then Rotherhithe-based side Fisher are third with 44 points from 20 games.
Reflecting on Holmesdale’s last game, which was there 2-1 home win over Phoenix Sports Reserves on Saturday 30 December, Roots said: “I was very happy with the performance, overall, from the lads.
“The scoreline didn’t reflect our true performance of the game. We created excellent chances throughout the game, managed it really well and defensively was very solid, so was very happy with the three points.”
Holmesdale expect to attract a large crowd to Oakley Road for the visit of Fisher, who are looking to bounce back from relegation at the first attempt.
“We’re looking forward to the game,” said Roots.
“Every game is a challenge at this level and you have to approach each and every game correctly if you want to collect wins in the league and tomorrow is certainly no exception.
“Listen, we know what they’re all about! We’ve done our homework on them like we do every opposition we face and will prepare in the right manner for a tough game.
“Tomorrow we would love to have a big crowd down at Oakley Road to cheer the lades on, so come down and support The Dalers.”
