BEN KOTEY has been appointed as the new manager of Holmesdale following the departure of Lee Roots.

Kotey has recently gained his UEFA A Licence and comes to the Bromley based club after spending two successful seasons at Phoenix Sports Reserves.

Kotey has brought with him assistant managers Martin West and Reggie Boatswain as well as coach Keith Lawrence, who were with him at Phoenix Sports and the quartet helped the club win the London Senior Trophy with a 3-2 extra-time win over their league rivals Erith & Belvedere last month.

Holmesdale chairman Ray Tolfrey said: “With a lot of interest in this position and after speaking to several people Ben and his team were the successful candidates.

“We are confident that Ben and his team will give Holmesdale FC the best opportunities for success next season and beyond.”

Holmesdale finished in the top-eight in the Southern Counties East Football League First Division with 56 points on the board from their 36 league outings.

Phoenix Sports Reserves, meanwhile, finished in fourteenth-place in the table and play Sporting Club Thamesmead's first team in the Hospitals Charity Senior Cup Final at Park View Road (Erith & Belvedere are hosting the game) on Friday night (19:30).
