HOLLANDS & BLAIR manager Simon Halsey begins the search for a new assistant manager after Luke Harvey announced last night that he was stepping down from the role.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Simon Halsey and all those at Hollands & Blair for the opportunity given to me,” said Harvey.

“Due to work commitments and passion of coaching my two sons, I’ve taken the very hard decision to step down as assistant manager.”

A club statement from the Gillingham based side added: “The club is sorry to announce that Luke Harvey has stepped down as assistant manager  of the first-team to concentrate on his youth coaching at Sittingbourne.

“We wish him nothing but success and wish him and his family all the very best.”

Halsey guided Hollands & Blair to seventh-place in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division before their campaign was halted after just 11 league games due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Sittingbourne’s first-team are managed by former Blair stalwart Darren Blackburn and they play at one level higher and were sitting second-from-bottom in the Isthmian League South East Division table after collecting four points from five games.
