Tonbridge Angels’ player-manager Tony Dolby is relishing preparing his troops for their Ryman Premier League campaign.

The Betterview Longmead Stadium club finished their division one campaign in third place - securing promotion after play-off wins over Tooting & Mitcham United and Dover Athletic.

Reflecting on the season, Dolby told the revamped www.tonbridgeangels.co.uk: “Overall, a very successful season. The club’s success is not a surprise when you consider all the hard work and desire to win that is all around.”

The former Millwall and Welling United star added: “Personally I am very proud of the club’s achievement and my own. To succeed in doing what was expected at the start of the season is a fantastic feeling and the way it was done was fairytale stuff.

“Last season had its moments but I love the job and the challenges it brings and can’t wait for next season to begin.”

Fans are, however, awaiting details of the club’s pre-season friendlies and Dolby has yet added to his promotion winning squad.

“I am working very hard on bringing in the quality I feel is needed to be competitive next season,” he said.

“There will not be a large shuffle around but we will do whatever it takes.”

Dolby, meanwhile, gave this message to the Tonbridge faithful.  “Have faith in me as a manager and I will deliver," he insisted.
