Halsey: We must prove to our supporters that we're a good side
WHITSTABLE TOWN coach Simon Halsey demands a marked improvement from the side, ahead of Tuesday’s Kent derby against Cray Wanderers at Hayes Lane, writes Stephen McCartney.
If bottom-of-the-table side Crowborough Athletic pull off a surprise win at Sittingbourne tomorrow, the Oystermen will face Ian Jenkins’ promotion chasing side being the bottom side in the Ryman League Division One South table.
Whitstable Town were defeated 2-0 at home to Fleet Town, a side that were below them in the table yesterday, and Halsey and manager Marc Seager know things must improve.
The Belmont Road outfit have picked up only three points from their first five games, losing their last three league games, without scoring a goal.
“We need to put this performance behind us and the best way to do it is to put things right on the pitch,” Halsey told www.whitstabletownfc.co.uk.
“The lads all know that so far this season we have not performed. We need to get back to basics and prove to the supporters that we are still a decent side and get back to winning ways.”
www.kentishfootball.co.uk will be covering this game.
