Dartford Borough Council give Halls Athletic the green light for Atlas Park
HALLS ATHLETIC have received the green light from Dartford Borough Council Planners for their Atlas Park Development.
The whole development at the London Road, Stone site will include a GP surgery, retail shops, a new park and the Sports Estate for the Kent County League Division One West outfit.
“It has been a complicated process with the complexities of the former landfill use for the site all now finalised,” said club secretary Chris Michaelas.
“The club has been vested in this site since 2012 and we can only thank the perseverance of the landowner and now the town planners for their consent.
“We now move into a very exciting period of final fundraising with applications to the Football Foundation and the National Lottery imminent.”
The site will comprise of an all-weather floodlit stadia pitch with at least six grass pitches, car park and wonderful two- storey clubhouse and the centrerpiece clubhouse is where the real magic will happen within the community.
“With our exciting partnership with Charlton Athletic Community Trust delivering programmes and workshops and having a positive impact on our local community and those hardest to reach,” added Michaelas.
The building includes a cafe, fitness and physio suite with first-class changing rooms, offices, numerous spaces for classrooms and a sports bar with a balcony overlooking the arena.
