We’ve got a big weekend coming up with two games in three days away from home against two sides on the up, says Greenwich Borough boss Gary Alexander

GREENWICH BOROUGH manager Gary Alexander says the club has a big weekend approaching.

Alexander has just celebrated his first anniversary in charge of the club and has been in charge of 54 games,  winning 32, drawing eight and losing 14 and guided the club to the Southern Counties East Football League title at the end of last season.

Spring forward to now and Greenwich Borough are in the top-three in the Ryman League Division One South table with a playing record of 16 wins, two draws and 8 league defeats.  They are seven points adrift of league leaders Dorking Wanderers, who have a game in hand.

Greenwich Borough beat Cray Wanderers 3-1 on Boxing Day, courtesy of strikers Charlie MacDonald, Billy Dunn and Rob Denness.

They travel to sixteenth-placed East Grinstead Town on Saturday (13:00) and ninth-placed Sittingbourne on Bank Holiday Monday, 2 January 2017 (15:00).

“We’ve got a big weekend coming up with two games in three days away from home against two sides on the up,” said Alexander.

“We will have to be at our best to get maximum points.

“We have trained hard over the Christmas period and hopefully will pay off in the coming weeks.

“Going into 2017 we aim to keep getting better and win as many games as possible and see where it takes us.  There’s still a long way of the season to go.”
