GREENWICH BOROUGH boss Gary Alexander says it’s nice to get their first win of the season under their belts at Guernsey yesterday.
Charlie MacDonald and Travis Gregory gave Borough a 2-0 lead before the hosts pulled a goal back through talisman Ross Allen’s penalty.
Greenwich Borough finished in the top-three last season in their debut season at this level and are now in 12th place in the Bostik South Division with four points from three games.
“It’s been a good start to the Bank Holiday with a win at Guernsey, so it was nice to get our first three points on the board,” said Alexander.
“The boys produced a good performance considering the circumstances of the travelling etc, so full credit to them. It’s not an easy place to go and prepare and get three points.”

Steve O’Boyle has guided his side to sixth-place in the table, unbeaten on seven points in their first season in the South Division following their switch from the North Division.
Phoenix scored two second half goals to beat Hythe Town 2-0 at home yesterday, courtesy of Jack Barham and Frankie Sawyer scoring against his old club.
Alexander said: “Looking forward to our first local derby of the season against a Phoenix side that seem to have adapted to life in the Bostik South.
“I’m expecting a real tough game, no different to any other game in this league with that little added spice of being a derby.
“Steve is someone I respect and I talk to and have no doubts that he’ll have his team up for the game, so we will have to be at our best to get the right result.”
