We're working to get back to the levels we expect, says Greenwich Borough player-boss Gary Alexander

GREENWICH BOROUGH player-manager Gary Alexander says his team-mates have to be at their best to win at Faversham Town on Saturday.

The Borough have gone four games without a win in all competitions and have slipped down to fourth-place in the Ryman League Division One South table with 35 points from 17 games – 11 points adrift of league leaders Dorking Wanderers but with two games in hand.

Ray Turner’s Faversham Town side, meanwhile, have slipped down to 15th place in the table with 22 points from 15 games and have gone five games without a win in all competitions.

“Faversham will be a tough opponent, a real hard working side, so we know what to expect,” said Alexander.

“It’s never nice to lose games but it’s a chance to learn even more when you do, so we’ll be working on a few things over the coming weeks to get back to the levels we expect.

“I’d like to hope I have some better news coming from the treatment room as well to put us close to full fitness, when we are capable of competing and beating anybody in this league, so obviously we are all disappointed but have a great bunch of lads that all share the same goal.

“We have shown the type of runs we are capable of and hopefully we can start another one on Saturday but we will have to be at our best.”
